She reflects on the ruling in 1956 to declare the Sinixt extinct as well as what it has meant spiritually and emotionally for her people to have that declaration overturned. She sees the connection to the land as very important to her people and that we now have to ‘elevate the voice of the land’ and to make better choices for the sake of the earth.
