About this Event
Take time to refresh, refine and recognize your own daily practice of yoga with symbolism, movement, reflection and creative expression. In this four-week series, we will explore Yasodhara Yoga practices to make space in your life for relaxation, connection, discipline and creativity. Engage with your life just as it is to bring light and awareness into each day, using the practices of Karma Yoga, Light and concentration.
In each of the four sessions we will be doing some gentle hatha and movement which will require enough space for a mat and room to move. Bring a journal.

About this Event
As the days get shorter, there may be times when it is hard to get out of bed. Tapas is that little flame inside of us that motivates and keeps us on track with anything important in life. It fires us up about our goals and dreams, and allows us to make progress. A commitment to our yoga practice, even for only 10 or 15 minutes each morning, can help us to keep on track. Holding a posture is also tapas. It means restraining from moving and observing what happens. It builds our capacity. We develop the skills of awareness and reflection that bring us to inner peace.
You will need an uncluttered space, a yoga mat, comfortable clothing, a journal and pen. You are also asked to sign in 30 minutes before your first class to check and adjust the positioning of your mat, laptop camera, lighting and sound.

The Yoga Development Course (YDC) offers yoga in the deepest sense of the word, a path leading to liberation.
2021 will be a special year for the Yoga Development Course. To ensure your safety, we are limiting the intake for the course to comply with BC coronavirus requirements. Each person will prepare for the course by participating in a two-week guided private retreat with reading materials. This will also act as a quarantine period, prior to the launch of the classes and workshops from January 18. The YDC includes morning Hatha Yoga classes, daily workshops and evening satsangs in the Temple of Light.
Come and expand your understanding. Heal. The program, set in the Ashram’s pristine forest and lake during the quiet winter, offers a balance of self-inquiry and group work in community, a process that leads to new discoveries and purposeful change.
2021: January 3 – April 19 in two parts:
– Jan. 3 – 17- private guided retreat (quarantine) followed by
– Jan. 18 – April 19 YDC
The fee for the course, which includes accommodation and meals, retreat and course time:
– Private room sharing a bathroom with 1 person – $9550
– Private room with ensuite – $11,500

Following the YDC, we offer an extended-stay program for up to five months at no charge to support you in putting your YDC learnings into action. The program is focused on Karma Yoga and active engagement in the Ashram community – another wonderful opportunity to live and grow in spiritual community. This includes participation in daily hatha, reflection time, evening satsangs and weekly classes with your peers.
The YDC is the prerequisite for our Teacher Certification programs.
