Forever In My Heart

Swami Radhananda always spoke to the best in me. Often she would see it before I recognized it in myself. She resided in a place of Love and Light and by doing so I discovered Light and Love in myself. I am deeply grateful. Someone who has done so much will always be remembered.

Gratitude

I am so grateful for all the gifts Swami Radhananda gave me. Gifts that might seem small but meant the world to me. A quiet word of encouragement that I was on the right track. A wise question that made me sit up and take notice. Her wonderful smile of recognition when we met in Mandala house my last summer visit.

And I am so thankful for her strength and courage, matched by her ability to see a new way forward. Her presence still shines out so strongly here at the ashram but also in my life because she opened the door of Brahmacharya initiation to those that want it. What a gift she gave me, It is a gift that keeps on growing, and my gratitude fills my heart.

One of the last times we sat together in many mansions, a silent tune pulled us from our quiet stillness and we danced.
And we laughed.
So many times you had offered the same – be still and quiet, listen for what calls and then move.
My heart is big and strong, my mind clear and open because of the love I encountered over and over with you.
I am grateful for all the ways you invite me to love you, thank you.

Swami Radhananda’s devotion, sincerity, ability to ‘tune in’ and adapt to change made her a phenomenal leader. From the bottom of my heart, I thank her for her work in carrying the Teachings and leading Yasodhara Ashram.

When I pause and think of Swami Radhananda, I become filled with a great sense of hope.

Remembering Swami Radhananda

I have immense gratitude for the courage and work, for the love you gave to guide the Ashram and all of us over the past decades. Living the Practice is a source of inspiration so often in so many ways.
I remember your kindness helping me one day as I was taking photos in the 1980’s, holding a ladder so I could see a new perspective of the temple, and your fiercer kindness over the years in helping me to see that in myself.
I remember many years of challenges, love and inspiration as you became our President and Guru.
I remember your presence as Light and especially as Love in your final days on earth. And I know you are still present here with us.
It is a joy to celebrate you and your life.

Swami Radhananda

Swami Radhananda led by example. The words that come to mind with my relationship with her is spiritual friend and teacher. From the moment I met her I felt this very thin thread pulling me towards her and the teachings. She knew when to give a gentle tug, a stronger pull or a full embrace. Her Light kept drawing me closer as her example kept saying to me, this is real, this is how to be a human, this is how to serve HER, this is how to move towards authenticity, this is what the teachings of Swami Radha have to give for support, this is how to live. I am eternally grateful for each one of her invitations to come closer, for her generosity, patience and love. Swami Radhananda you are in my heart – thank you – Namaste.

Swami Radhananda was a teacher who really knew how to teach.
She was like a big sister to me, always clear, forthright and LOVING.
I am forever grateful for all I learned from her and for the amazing LOVE I experienced with her.

With Love and Gratitude

I visited with Swami Radhananda a number of times during my stay at the Ashram, and I remember her gentleness, her kindness and the light in her eyes.
At the end of our Teacher Certifications, she would always urge us to Keep Going, and her later years were evidence that she too would Keep Going as long as she could, continuing to teach, participating in meetings and walking, always walking, sometimes alone, mostly in company. She embodied to the end, all that she taught us. She truly lived the practice.

Beyond Words

I keep stumbling trying to find words that could possibly encapsulate the fullness of Radhananda’s impact on my life. I can’t.

She has always been there: guiding, supporting, challenging, inviting, cajoling, laughing, holding my hand, wiping my tears, asking me to lead, reminding me to stay true. We’ve laughed, cried, fought, hugged, imagined and jumped through every decade of my life.

I am truly the woman I am because of her steadfast love, interest and commitment.
I am blessed beyond words.

Gratitude to Sw Radhananda

When I think of Swami Radhananda I feel deep gratitude in my heart.
She led by example, and had a lightness that sincerely spoke of “anything is possible”. I felt a connection with her from the very first time I met her at the ashram. She was innovative, sincere, no nonsense., and emitted a feeling of what I call mother love. The impact and positive influence she has had on my life, and that of my family, cannot be described. I am ever grateful for having had the opportunity to spend time with her and benefit from her guidance. Om Tara
