One-Month Karma Yoga Program Intake

The One-Month (OM) Karma Yoga program is for anyone interested in living in a spiritual community to explore work, develop self-knowledge and gain skills. This live-and-work program focuses on Karma Yoga —the yoga of action and selfless service—and also introduces participants to Mantra, Hatha, Dreams and Kundalini Yoga — tools that can help expand awareness.

Yasodhara Ashram is an intergenerational community where people of all ages—from youth to elders and everyone in between—work together. This program is run jointly with the Young Adult Program. Young Adults (18-30) are offered a reduced fee structure and Elders (60 and over) can choose to work six-hours instead of eight.

The program helps you deepen self-knowledge, integrate as a valued working member of the community and take away a life-changing experience.

Cost: Adults $825; Elders (60+) $825 (six hour work day option available); Deposit $100 when you are accepted into the program. (See our Cancellation Policy)

Bursary Applications are available for Elders on fixed income.

The Young Adult Program is for people 18-30 interested in living in a spiritual community to explore work, develop self-knowledge and gain skills.

This live-and-work program focuses on Karma Yoga —the yoga of action and selfless service—and also introduces participants to Mantra, Hatha, Dreams and Kundalini Yoga — tools that can help expand awareness.

Unpacking this spectrum of responses can help you make better decisions. Based on an ancient Buddhist practice of self-awareness, the Straight Walk involves several walking meditations done with observation and concentration. Schedule
11-12:15 – Hatha Yoga class. Please come early to register at the gift shop where you will be directed to the classroom. We supply yoga mats and blankets. Children and adults are welcome. The class is open to all levels.
12:30 – Enjoy a nutritious and locally-harvested lunch.
1:15-2:30 – Take a guided tour of our grounds, abundant gardens, environmentally designed buildings and devotional spaces.

Families of all ages, shapes and sizes are invited to attend our popular Annual Family Retreat! Join together with others to experience the potential of family life in a community. This program has been especially designed to support you. We’ve arranged the schedule so parents have time for personal reflection and time to connect with other parents. Children have opportunities to play in the garden and help with harvesting. Spend family time together in yoga, work, play and retreat.

Our Annual Family Retreat begins with an Introductory Evening Welcome on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 (after dinner).
