At Yasodhara Ashram, Karma Yoga is translated into our daily work as selfless service to the community. It is taking yoga off the mat and putting it into real life experiences. Applying this yogic practice to your stay benefits yourself as well as our Ashram community.

Karma Yoga is the path of action. It is the intention woven within our actions, which perpetuate more actions and the ongoing state of our minds (also known as karma). Karma Yoga is marked by willingness, care, consideration and cooperation. This means doing the work that needs to be done simply because it needs to be done, putting high quality into your efforts and expecting nothing in return. We can lift any task from the menial to the meaningful.

Whether you are working at a computer, cooking or tending the garden, Karma Yoga gives you the opportunity to transform as your every moment becomes a moving meditation.

We will take into consideration your ability and skill set to do various tasks.
Areas where you may offer Karma Yoga include:

  • Garden and Grounds
  • Preserving Kitchen
  • Kitchen
  • Hospitality
  • Office

We also meet together to reflect on the events of the day and support each
other in our efforts.
