Take this opportunity to experience yoga and work in a truly transformative way! Founded on the principle of service, the Ashram is a living example of a generosity-based intergenerational community. Karma Yoga is the practice of selfless service/volunteering and is an essential part of life at Yasodhara Ashram.

The Two-Month Karma Yoga Program is for people who want to take time away from their daily lives to learn more about themselves and their life choices. This is an extension of our previous popular One-Month (OM) Program. Minimum two months has emerged as an ideal time-period because of the health requirements created by the pandemic. The program starts with a two-week guided quarantine period – much like a personal retreat – before full entry into Ashram community life as a full-time karma yogi.

Zoom Information Sessions
We invite you to an online information session about our Karma Yoga Programs. This is an opportunity to learn more about the programs.

  • Watch for upcoming 2021 dates.

The program focuses on Karma Yoga —the yoga of action and selfless service/volunteering while introducing participants to the main Yasodhara Yoga practices such as Mantra, Hatha, Dreams and Kundalini Yoga — tools that can help expand awareness. The program helps you deepen self-knowledge, integrate as a valued working member of the community and take away a life-changing experience.

We especially welcome young adults (18-30). Whether you are on a gap year, taking time out to consider next steps, or wanting to expand awareness of your spiritual path, this program can help. Through learning to understand symbolism, the power of speech and mind, and through exploring your attitude to work and service, you can create a firm foundation for your future.

The program is also open to those of all ages. And we welcome you to return for this program if you have previously completed the Yoga Development Course, 10 Day Yoga Journey or One Month Karma Yoga Program.

The Two Month Program can be a steppingstone to longer-term residential stays ranging from three months to two years or longer. See Pathways for Living & Serving in the Ashram Community for more information.

Through Karma Yoga I have found a new way of learning and working. It’s not about recognition; it’s about offering my work based on what I can do and what I know, within an environment of abundance and support. Ametisse Gover-Chamlou

Each participant is assigned an Ashram contact person to help with ongoing questions.

What Program Participants are saying:

It’s neat to see how the work as a karma yogi – repairs and maintenance – has evolved into my current construction work. I continue to bring the teachings into my life as much as I can and I look forward to the next time I will be able to visit the Ashram.
