About the Temple

The Temple of Light arose from the lifelong dream of the Ashram’s founder, Swami Radha – a dream in which people from all paths and spiritual traditions would connect with each other and share common ground.

The original Temple, completed in 1992, was destroyed by fire in 2014.

The spirit of the Temple lives on in the new innovative rebuild (designed by Patkau Architects) that has evolved from the original design.

Construction was completed in the fall of 2017 and the Temple official opened in June of 2018. Watch a timelapse of construction.

Yasodhara Ashram acknowledges the Ktunaxa and Sinixt first peoples on whose unceded territory we are caretakers and guests.

To take action, we have started The Reconciliation Fund and will collect $25 from each guest to be donated to a First Nations non-profit organization, with the intention to help balance past injustices.
