Hidden Language Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification
Jul 24 @ 6:45 pm – Aug 6 @ 5:30 pm

Learn what it means to teach from your experience through our intensive fourteen-day Hidden Language training process, and gain greater appreciation of the body as a spiritual tool.
Hidden Language Hatha Yoga is the unique style developed by Swami Radha that takes asanas far beyond physical exercise. From the knowledge, tools and insights you gained in the YDC and the foundation you built through the Hatha Teacher Training, you will gain confidence in transmitting this evocative method.

As a teacher, you will learn to use the tools of metaphor, symbolism and written reflection to help others access the “hidden” messages of the asanas – physically, psychologically and spiritually. You can expand the potential of yoga by offering students an appreciation of the body as a spiritual tool.

Prerequisites:
The Yoga Development Course, as well as the Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification. Completion of the YDC book report project is also a requirement.

Renewal: Every three years.

Visit the Hidden Language Hatha Yoga Certification page.

Kundalini & Dream Yoga Teacher Certification
Aug 13 @ 1:45 am – Aug 27 @ 12:30 am

Kundalini and Dream Yoga Teacher Certification is more than teacher training; it is an adventure of expanding awareness and discovering potential. This intensive two-week program is a profound experience of being together with others of like-mind and coming closer to your own self. The questions “Who am I?” and “What is the purpose of my life?” are the foundation of an ongoing self-inquiry that leads to transformation.

Using the questions and practices in Kundalini Yoga for the West, you will study energy, imagination, emotions, heart, will, mind, consciousness, the power of choice, the power of the senses, the power of speech. You create plans and teach in small group sessions with your colleagues. Learning to maintain a focus on Light, you build an adjustable framework to meet your students’ needs.

As part of this course, you also explore the unconscious levels of mind through recording and interpreting your dreams. Using Swami Radha’s Dream Yoga method, you access the meaning of your dreams and tap the benefits of that inner wisdom. Then in small groups you learn to guide others in their dream interpretations by asking questions, offering tools and helping each person unlock the symbolic messages to attain insights they can apply in their lives.

To remain certified, teachers renew every three years. Many teachers return more frequently, finding this program an advanced learning experience and an opportunity to collaborate, to be inspired in their teaching, and to further their own personal development.

Prerequisites: Completion of the Yoga Development Course and the YDC book reports.

Introduction to Indian Classical Music Workshop with Raj and Utpal
Aug 24 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Introduction to Indian Classical Music Workshop with Raj and Utpal @ Yasodhara Ashram

Spend two hours with two talented and experienced musicians and discover the expressiveness of ragas that form the basis of classical Indian music. Ragas evoke moods, feelings and sentiments in ways not experienced with other types of music. Explore why and how the mere acoustical wave patterns of musical notes affect us in such profound manners. Understand how the signatures of ragas etch distinct melodic and spiritual messages in our minds that are neither apparent to our auditory senses nor obvious to our intellect.

Raj and Utpal have been performing together for almost 30 years. Their music has been licensed to several prestigious museums as well as yoga and meditation schools. They have collaborated with several musicians of different genres, and firmly believe that music transcends all boundaries! Their five CDs with 36 compositions are available through iTunes and Amazon and many other online distributors; see indiepool.com.

Strawberry Social @ Yasodhara Ashram

Please join us as we celebrate the 19th Annual gathering of friends and neighbours!

Join us for strawberry shortcake, used book sale, live music, kid zone, and community!

All are welcome. No need to RSVP.

You may have heard that we had a fire in the Temple. The fire was contained to the Temple building itself and no one was hurt. All of the other buildings and land are untouched. Even the garden around the Temple remains beautiful and pristine.

We want you to know that the Ashram is safe, open and welcoming. Our programs, retreats and courses will continue as usual, and so will the Strawberry Social!

At 2:30pm, we will also offer a special thank you to our volunteer firefighters and emergency services for their outstanding efforts during our recent Temple fire.

Thank you to all of our friends and neighbours for your kindness and generosity. Let’s come together to recognize and celebrate our strength in community.

Kundalini & Dream Yoga Teacher Certification
Jul 24 @ 6:45 pm – Aug 7 @ 5:30 pm

Kundalini & Dream Yoga Teacher Certification is more than teacher training; it is an adventure of expanding awareness and discovering potential.

Hidden Language Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification
Aug 11 @ 6:45 pm – Aug 25 @ 5:30 pm
Hidden Language Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification @ Yasodhara Ashram

Learn what it means to teach from your experience through our intensive fourteen-day Hidden Language training process, and gain greater appreciation of the body as a spiritual tool.
Hidden Language Hatha Yoga is the unique style developed by Swami Radha that takes asanas far beyond physical exercise. From the knowledge, tools and insights you gained in the YDC and the foundation you built through the Hatha Teacher Certification, you will gain confidence in transmitting this evocative method.

Hidden Language Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification
Jul 24 @ 6:45 pm – Aug 7 @ 5:30 pm
Hidden Language Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification @ Yasodhara Ashram

Learn what it means to teach from your experience through our intensive fourteen-day Hidden Language training process, and gain greater appreciation of the body as a spiritual tool.
Hidden Language Hatha Yoga is the unique style developed by Swami Radha that takes asanas far beyond physical exercise. From the knowledge, tools and insights you gained in the YDC and the foundation you built through the Hatha Teacher Certification, you will gain confidence in transmitting this evocative method.

Completion of the YDC book reflection project is also a requirement.

Renewal: Every three years.

Kundalini & Dream Yoga Teacher Certification
Aug 10 @ 6:45 pm – Aug 24 @ 5:30 pm
Kundalini & Dream Yoga Teacher Certification @ Yasodhara Ashram

Kundalini & Dream Yoga Teacher Certification is more than teacher training; it is an adventure of expanding awareness and discovering potential.

Prerequisites: Completion of the Yoga Development Course and the YDC book reflections.

Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification
Apr 8 @ 6:45 pm – Apr 18 @ 5:00 pm
Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification @ Yasodhara Ashram | Kootenay Bay | British Columbia | Canada

After completing the Yoga Development Course, the next step in teacher training is the Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification. You are encouraged to teach from a sense of self-acceptance – listening to your own body and offering from your own experience. Prior to certification you are also asked to complete a practicum of leading 6 classes (either at the Ashram or elsewhere) and reporting on what you learned.

Prerequisites:
This training builds on the foundation laid through the 675 hours of practice and instruction of the Yoga Development Course.

Hidden Language Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification
Aug 8 @ 6:45 pm – Aug 22 @ 5:30 pm
Hidden Language Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification @ Yasodhara Ashram

This two-week teacher certification program will deepen your understanding of the system of Hatha Yoga that Swami Radha called “the Hidden Language,” which integrates the asanas with the power of mind and symbolism. You will learn —through your own personal reflection, study and practice teaching—how to offer the gift of Hidden Language to others .

Take this next step in using metaphor, symbolism and written reflections to help students access the insightful messages that the asanas can bring. The process involves trusting your own intuition and that of your students. Learn to create a safe, light framework and fill it with an atmosphere that empowers each person’s awareness. Teach the unity of yoga, where body and mind communicate.

Prerequisites:
The Yoga Development Course, as well as the Hatha Yoga Teacher Certification. Completion of the YDC book reflection project is also a requirement.

Renewal: Every three years.

Conscious Living in Times of Change – Toronto Workshop
Sep 29 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Yasodhara Ashram is coming to Ottawa! Experience the teachings of the Ashram close to home with this workshop facilitated by Senior Teacher Swami Matananda.

We live in a world of fast-paced, continual change – processing endless input and meeting demands for flexibility and quick decisions. As life speeds up, we can lose perspective and a deep sense of meaning. Yogic practices are designed to bring us back to our ‘grounding’, to stillness and to connection to purpose. Join us for a breath, relaxation, visualisation and reflection – a time of returning to centre.

mata
Swami Matananda is a long-time teacher and resident of Yasodhara Ashram. Her light-hearted nurturing approach supports people in accessing their inner well of wisdom and their true potential. She is also an artist and is actively involved in tending the Ashram land.

One-Month Karma Yoga Program Intake @ Yasodhara Ashram

Take this opportunity to experience yoga and work in a truly transformative way!

The One-Month (OM) Karma Yoga program is for anyone interested in living in a spiritual community to explore work, develop self-knowledge and gain skills. This live-and-work program focuses on Karma Yoga — the yoga of action and selfless service — and also introduces participants to Mantra, Hatha, Dreams and Kundalini Yoga—tools that can help expand awareness.

Yasodhara Ashram is an intergenerational community where people of all ages—from youth to elders and everyone in between—work together. Young Adults (18-30) are offered a reduced fee structure and Elders (60 and over) can choose to work six-hours instead of eight.

The program helps you deepen self-knowledge, integrate as a valued working member of the community and take away a life-changing experience.
