An of Era of Acceleration
People are under tremendous pressures today, perhaps greater than at any other time in history. Whatever the lifestyle, one seems to move too fast to digest the experiences that take place each day. The pressure felt is not exclusively because of work, but also due to the enormous amount of material that has to be assimilated to survive in a highly competitive environment.

The natural life rhythm simply cannot absorb the constant impact of living in a hyper-connected, media rich, turbulent environment.

Quite simply, people are destabilized and fatigued.

As catalysts engaged in creating a better world, we need energy to persevere. The true source of power and renewal is often buried to such a degree that support is needed to reclaim it. Once reclaimed we can realign with our intentions with new awareness and new strategies.

Experience the Transformative Power of Sacred Dance

Jul 12 – 14

Stay overnight after the program ends and have breakfast the next day at no extra cost.

In the eastern teachings the body is seen as a spiritual tool, a temple to the Most High. It is a way to be in touch with devotional feelings of the heart and to express these through a beautiful ancient language of movement.

Anusha Fernando, the artistic director of Shakti Dance in Vancouver, will be returning to the Ashram, along with members of her company, to be part of this special weekend devoted to sacred dance.  Swami Yasodananda from Spokane Yasodhara Yoga Center will be joining Anusha in offering dance sessions through the weekend.

While at the Ashram, Anusha will offer an evening of Bharata Natyam dance called “Refuge—Finding our True Home”. The pieces are an expression of two central themes in Bharata Natyam’s repertoire: our longing to become intimate with our true nature and the importance of appreciating the ground on which we stand. The performance will be Sunday evening in the Ashram’s beautiful Temple of Light.

No dance experience necessary.
