Take your Experiences and Fly Part I
Swami Radhananda

We can make layers and layers of meetings and talking and solutions and problem-solving and never get to the action of changing our minds, changing the ways we are doing things to become more concentrated and efficient.  When you act then you are not doing something else.  Then the thought may come that you could be making a mistake. Where is the mind, what is it connected to, at that moment when thoughts like this come up: what if I can’ t do that? should I do that? will that happen? will someone say.…? On and on goes the mind chatter instead of you acting in the moment.  We have to have a clear mind to make decisions to act.  We have to drop all this chatter and let something else act through us. We have to act in a selfless way instead of giving that power, that energy, to selfishness, to self-gratification, to self-importance.

And the interesting thing is that from each action we learn.  We just can’t stay inactive because the world is always changing, our mind is always changing, and we need to have that inner guidance to tell us what next.  We have to be able to connect with it and keep the connection happening in our mind.  It’s impossible for us to stay the same unless we really work at it. There is something in you always wanting to change, so staying the same means you really have to hold on to the past, hold onto your attachments. Your body is always changing, your face is always changing, you are always growing older, and your mind is changing, too, if you let it.

We build our little prisons and we keep ourselves in them, and yet we want to be liberated, so we have to find the key.  And the key is always awareness. In the kundalini system, it says experiences are real.  In fact, there is nothing unreal anywhere. We have to be aware of that. All is the Mother, She is reality itself.  What does it mean that there is nothing unreal? All our thoughts, all our actions, all our speech¾they are all going to lead to something.  So, you have a choice about what you want to be real in your life and how you can make it that way.

The first thing you need to know about  is your foundation, what you have come to this life for, the responsibility that you have to fulfill. You do have a responsibility and you have to take it up.  If it is something you have done , you can undo it.  If you are the doer, you can undo, but you do have a responsibility. It may be to take up from the place that you have come to; it may be from promises you have made.  And everyone has unique talents, a unique mind, and a unique situation to bring to fruition in this life.  It’s your choice how you do that.  Some take a long winding path, some have to go straight.  But there comes a moment of realization when a path shows itself, and you look back at all of the things that were done. You can see what was done in ignorance and put it all into Light.  And so the path from the beginning to the end begins to make sense.  We see our human tendencies and human errors, but we a can always come back and undo through the Light.  That’s the amazing gift of our reflection.
