Timeless
books had another successful year at Word on the
Street in both Vancouver and Toronto on Sunday,
September 25th, breaking last year’s sales
records in both cities.
The day started off gloomy in the east, with rain clouds
and showers as timeless staff, Andrew Wedman and Kendra
Ward, set up the booth next to ascent magazine at the
Queen’s Park festival. But, serendipitously,
as the clock struck 11am (the time that the festival
began), the sky lightened and the vapor rose off the
wet streets. Crowds arrived from all directions, and
by the afternoon, the festival was in full gear.
The Word on the Street is always a fun event. There
are amazing deals on books and the festival-goers – on
the lookout for the best deals of the year—are
there to take full advantage of the sales. The near-full
compliment of timeless staff was on-hand in shifts
throughout the day. Julia Hambleton, timeless’ newest
staff who is taking on sales part-time, and Clea McDougall,
timeless’ senior editor, also worked the event.
Old friends of Radha Yoga and new also stopped by to
say hello to timeless.
“It’s always a bit of a thrill,” said
Kendra, “to introduce new people to Swami Radha’s
books and just think about what might happen.”
The yogis from Vancouver’s radha—yoga & eatery
made it possible for timeless and ascent to participate
in Vancouver’s The Word on the Street festival
as well. Swami Lalitananda, Kxx Citton, Oliver Giving
and Sikeena Karmali all helped out at the timeless
and ascent table. The sun shone over the festival,
which always makes it better, and people had a great
time while they helped promote timeless, ascent and
radha.
