I first came to find Yasodhara Ashram in my early 20’s through yoga classes in the East Kootenays. Reading the Autobiography of a Yogi in 2010 led me to the Self-Realization Fellowship and a more devoted journey with yoga. In 2012, I attended the Journey to Yoga course at Yasodhara Ashram and had a profound enlightening and healing journey led by Swami Jyotihananda. I had found my spiritual home here and knew I needed to come back for deeper work. I returned for the 3 month Yoga Development Course and have since continued on to Hatha and Hidden Language Hatha training, learning the importance of karma yoga to keeping the Ashram vibrant and available. Being part of the Yasodhara Ashram community has become both a calling and a continual gift of healing and growth.

Yasodhara Yoga teachings have been an integral part of my life for many years. They give direction and meaning to my life. Most recently I am part of a group offering early morning online weekday chanting for both inner and world peace. I also facilitate a Monday evening gathering we call the “Poetry Club.” I am looking forward to travelling to the Ashram this August to join Ashram teachers in the Hidden Language teacher certification program. I would like to see a face to face Hidden Language class once again in Calgary

I am a lifelong student of East-West spiritual teachings, exploring the many ways into knowing my self and my Higher Self with yoga, meditation and awareness studies. I discovered Swami Radha’s books in 2016. I attended the Yoga Journey at the Yasodhara Ashram in 2023 and completed the YDC in 2026. I am dedicated to Swami Radha’s teachings, and am filled with gratitude for her offerings and efforts to make the ancient teachings accessible to us here, now. I continue to deepen my spiritual practices, integrating all that I have learned during the YDC, and offer Satsang with the Calgary group.

I first visited Yasodhara Ashram in the 1980’s after a classmate in a hatha yoga class in Edmonton gave me a brochure/calendar for the Ashram. A friend and I drove out for a 10 day course, and I later took the Yoga Development Course in 1992. Since then, I have completed teacher certifications in Hatha Yoga, Hidden Language Hatha Yoga, Kundalini and Dream Yoga, and completed the Yoga Development Course two more times, most recently in 2019. I feel grateful to be part of the extended Ashram community. Swami Radha’s teachings are both practical and uplifting and continue to inspire me.

Swami Radha’s teachings have changed my life. They are the reason I get up in the morning. They are the reason I celebrate this life I have been given. Her teachings allow me to develop my full potential, they allow me to become. It is the path to my heart and into Light.
I have been a certified teacher since 2000, and teach Dream and Kundalini yoga.

This tradition of yoga teachings has led to life-long learning, since early experiences with Hatha Yoga. As my life unfolded with its challenges, I went into deeper supportive practices following the teachings of Swami Radha. I learned about mind-body connections, the power of the intuitive voice within combined with reflective journalling. I have been involved in Yasodhara Yoga for over 30 years and am a certified teacher of both Dream and Kundalini Yoga.
