On Saturday February 18, the Victoria Radha Yoga Centre
hosted an exceptional evening of music with Galitcha, back
for the third year. With haunting flute sounds to powerful
songs from the heart, Chris, Kuljit, Linsey and Stefan
charmed us all night long.
 
Forty people filled the space, which made dancing in our
chairs the only option. Wearing a light pink turban and red
Punjabi shirt, Kuljit danced his traditional folk dance,
which enlivened the mood even more.  With eyes closed, a
grin on our faces, the bhava and enjoyment of the
entertainment was apparent. One person said that it was
unusual to find intimacy, fun and devotion all in one
setting.
 
At times Krishna seemed to enter the room when Kuljit sang
love songs about Krishna offering pleasure to the gopis. The
traditional East Indian style music blended with musical
influences from around the world invoked feelings of
sadness, happiness and joy. Galitcha (meaning tapestry) sang
a final song to an encore that lifted our spirits and sent
us home wanting more.
