Kelowna
Radha Yoga Centre is in transition. I am completing
my work with the homeless in downtown Kelowna and preparing
to spend the winter at the Ashram taking the Yoga Development
Course. Elizabeth MacLeod is now teaching hatha classes
in Mara – 1/2 north of Kelowna.
It’s
been an eventful Autumn at Kelowna Radha Center. We
began with a victory Satsang on September 26th. Everybody
brought symbols of personal victories in a spirit of
gratitude and as a step to opening up to further change
and expansion. It was a meaningful way to honour the
power of the teachings and what we have been given
- to recognize that we can move forward in our lives.
On Saturday,
October 1st students from Kelowna, Peachland, Kamloops,
Fernie and Mara participated in a “Spirit and
Nature Dancing Together” Hatha Yoga the Hidden
Language retreat that took place in Mara Community
Hall. Elizabeth said she was delighted to “share
where my roots have spread with former and new students.”
On the
weekend of October 28 and 29th five students from Kelowna,
Winfield, Peachland and Summerland converged upon Camp
Owaissi for our 3rd annual yoga retreat. We began our
retreat with an evening Satsang, setting the tone for
the weekend which included Hidden Language, karma yoga,
dream yoga, sacred dance, an uphill hike, and a pilgrimage
through the outdoor labyrinth and chapel. Patricia
Smith said about the weekend,
“I came home lightened, relaxed and rejuvenated!” Echoing
this, Christine Wilson said, “It was another "wonder"-ful
time of light and inspiration.”
