Yasodhara Ashram welcomes the new year with a revamped website. After three months in the making, www.yasodhara.org is up and running with a streamlined look and many user-friendly features.

“We hope for the website to go beyond providing information on courses,” said Edward Sherman, who studied computer programming in school. “The new design adds another dimension to the ashram and makes the teachings more accessible.” Edward and Adrian Wagner, participants on the ashram’s Young Adult program, have been working on the project since the beginning.

The new site features photo galleries, a virtual walking tour of the ashram, a bulletin board, and music and on-line video. The ‘Donate’ page provides simple and convenient options to make financial contributions to Swami Radha’s work. With the click of a button, Canadian residents can make tax receipted credit card donations administered through canadahelps.org, an on-line service for non-profits and charitable organizations.

Reflecting the aesthetic of the ashram, the new website offers a refined communication structure for the Radha Yoga community. Communication and community were themes present in the process of redesigning the site, as well. “I’ve never worked on a project where so much thought was put into every detail,” said Adrian, a graphic designer who has worked for many different companies and runs his own business. “The constant change and process was a challenge, but also very valuable learning.”
