When
you develop yourself as a special person who brings Lightthats where
the sun comes in.
Swami Radha
Young Adult Program participants currently living at the ashram are organizing a 108
Sun Salutation fundraiser on January 8, 2006. A Sun Salutation is a flowing series of classic hatha yoga poses. The objective is to do 108 sun
salutations (with each side counting as one54 rounds altogether) in five
hours. Young Adult will raise money by asking friends and relatives for pledges or
donations.
This is an exciting opportunity for the Young Adult to express our gratitude,
said Charlie Edmonds, who is helping to coordinate the event. Weve
received so much from the Ashrams Young Adult Program, and it feels good to
give back what we can.
On the day of the event, ashram young adults will gather in the Radha Room and try
to complete as many sun salutations as possible, while keeping in mind that
the event is an offering and an expression of gratitude. An e-mail has been
sent out to former Young Adult program participants, encouraging them to participate
in their own communities.
Im grateful for the support of the ashram, said kitchen intern
Jasmine Sarnes. Ive learned valuable leadership skills and how to
find balance in my work. Swami Radhas teachings allow me to develop into
my true self and discover my potential.
