Swami Lalitananda’s column: ‘The Yoga of Falling on Your Face: Getting Real In Bakaasana,’ appearing in ascent #26 (Summer 2005), has been nominated by the 2006 National Magazine Awards, announcing winners June 9th. The National Magazine Awards "recognize excellence in the content and creation of Canadian magazines."

            Swami Lalitananda’s column nomination is chosen out of 2300 total entries, and shares the honored nomination with 300 other nominees, from 75 different magazines. Swami Lalitananda’s ascent column is the only yoga/spirituality magazine nomination in any category. The nomination reflects Hidden Language Hatha Yoga’s unique use of written reflection as a means of gleaning spiritual insights, through the body’s awareness of the asana. Swami Lalitananda comes from the Saraswati sanyas order: Saraswati being the goddess of arts – the Devi of speech.
