We recognize that young people have a unique set of challenges and opportunities, energy and interests. The Ashram is a supportive environment to figure out your next steps in life.

Our Karma Yoga Programs are for those who are interested in experiencing life in a spiritual community, learning new skills and studying yoga. We are a multi-generational community, and you will be working and learning alongside other young people, elders, families and everyone in-between.

Our Young Adult programs offer the same structure and features as our regular Karma Yoga Programs, but have a different fee structure and possibilities for financial assistance.

Young Adult Program: One-month Karma Yoga Introduction

This is a live and work program, with a focus on the practice of Karma Yoga or selfless service. Participants are also introduced to the different forms of yoga that we practice here – including Mantra, Hatha, Dream and Kundalini.

The Karma Yoga Program will give you an opportunity to experience life, yoga and work in a truly transformative way.

Program features include:

Service:
  • Learn about Karma Yoga: the practice and philosophy
  • Experience how the Ashram functions by participating in work areas throughout the community
  • Be on our Karma Yoga work schedule eight hours/day, five-and-a half -days/week.
Study:
  • Morning Hatha or Hidden Language Yoga classes (six days a week)
  • Weekly evening classes that provide an introduction to our practices, time for reflection and support for your personal growth
  • An in-depth Yasodhara Yoga half-day workshop each week
  • Daily reflection breaks
  • Evening satsang in the Temple
  • Lunch-hour activities, such as sacred dance and music
  • Invitations to special events
  • One day off each week for spiritual practice and reflection

Cost: $525; deposit $50 when you are accepted into the program. Shared accommodation and meals included.

Length: Minimum four week commitment required.

Young Adult Program: Three-Month Karma Yoga Immersion

This program is for young adults who have attended the Karma Yoga One Month Introduction and who wish to extend their stay or return for a longer period.

Typically participants are asked to take leadership roles in various areas of the Ashram. This opportunity helps you strengthen your personal skills and knowledge, and offers the challenge of managing projects within a service environment.

By staying for three months or more, you can deepen your experience of community life and go further on your own spiritual path.

Program features include:

  • Take a leadership role in a Karma Yoga area
  • Help new Karma Yogis adjust and learn
  • Be on our Karma Yoga schedule eight hours/day, five and a half days/week
Study:
  • participation in a two-day Ashram retreat or workshop
  • morning Hatha or Hidden Language Yoga classes (six days a week)
  • a weekly evening classes that provide an introduction to our main practices, time for reflection and support for your personal growth
