Walking Together into a Hopeful Future – Reconciliation with Indigenous People
Apr 20 @ 7:30 pm – Apr 22 @ 8:30 pm

April 20 – 22

Pahan Pte San Win and Wanbdi Wakita, indigenous teachers and healers from Manitoba and Ashram friends, will be our guides for two days focused on Indigenous wisdom, reconciliation and the lost sisters. Wanbdi is a Dakota Spiritual Leader and Sundance Chief; Pahan is Lakota, Cree and Metis and her name means Grey Swan Buffalo Woman. They have spent a lifetime exploring and want to share what they have discovered with you.

Indigenous teachings provide a roadmap that lead us towards a life on Mother Earth that is both harmonious and sustainable. It requires a return to balance within – heart, mind, body and Spirit – and without.

Explore the concept of reconciliation as a practice that requires decision-making, intention, a shift in perspective and a commitment that is accompanied by action. Create personal action plans that identify steps that you will take to begin the practice of reconciliation as a way of life

Explore the issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and how it is fueled by racism and marginalization. Identify examples of Acts of Love (including the Walking with our Sisters Exhibit and the Sundance of Women) that are healing the wrongs. Answer the question, “How do I become an ally?”

An of Era of Acceleration
People are under tremendous pressures today, perhaps greater than at any other time in history. Whatever the lifestyle, one seems to move too fast to digest the experiences that take place each day. The pressure felt is not exclusively because of work, but also due to the enormous amount of material that has to be assimilated to survive in a highly competitive environment.

The natural life rhythm simply cannot absorb the constant impact of living in a hyper-connected, media rich, turbulent environment.

Quite simply, people are destabilized and fatigued.

As catalysts engaged in creating a better world, we need energy to persevere. The true source of power and renewal is often buried to such a degree that support is needed to reclaim it. Once reclaimed we can realign with our intentions with new awareness and new strategies.
